The members protested against the proposed move of government to allot lesser land for setting up community kitchens during the annual Amarnath pilgrimagefor increasing the raod tax from 300 INR (6.58 USD) to 2300 INR (50.47 USD) from this year. The members alleged discrimnation against them as Muslim pilgrims get subsidy for 'Hajj' pilgrimageon the other hand Hindus have to pay higher taxes for Amarnath pilgrimage. The Amarnath Sewa Mandal members warned of intensifying the stir if the authorities did not withdraw their order. The Amarnath 'yatra' or pilgrimage is scheduled to start from 01 Julyculminate on 24 August.  EPA/RAMINDER PAL SINGH
