According to the organizers, some 30,000 people took part in the event. The participants hope to use the event to rise attention on their opposition to Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama's plan to relocate MCAS Futenma within Okinawa Prefecture. The situation on the US Marine base move is still uncertainmany residents of both Okinawa are against the key concepts of the new base relocation plan.
