Tsushima-maru was a Japanese unmarked cargo ship that was sunk by the submarine USS Bowfin during World War II while carrying hundreds of schoolchildren on 22 August 1944. 1,484 civilians including 767 schoolchildren were killed, only 59 children survived the sinking.
