epa02202755 A Japanese man dressed in the armor of the Heian Period (794-1192) prepares to perform a dance during the 'Otaue' rice planting ceremony at Sumiyoshi Shinto shrine in Osaka, western Japan, 14 June 2010. Dating back to the 3rd century, the Otaue ceremony, or Rice-transplanting ceremony in English, is annually celebrated on the 14 June, the beginning of Japan's rainy season.
