Petrochemicals company Petkim Petrokimya Holding AS (PETKM.IS) posted a net profit of 20.883 million Turkish lira ($14 million) in the first three months of the year, up 72% on year, the Istanbul Stock Exchange's Web site showed Friday.
The company posted a net profit of TRY12.141 million in the first quarter of 2009.
Income from sales rose to TRY676.9 million in the first quarter from TRY374.8 billion a year earlier.
Its financial revenue also rose to TRY35.4 million in the first quarter from TRY25.4 million a year earlier.
It posted an operating profit of TRY26 million during the period, compared with TRY23.4 million a year earlier.
Pekim is a joint venture between Azeri energy firm SocarTurkish fuel distributorenergy firm Turcas Petrol AS (TRCAS.IS).
