Update: Turkey's Arcelık 2009 Net Profıt Up At Try485.4m

Turkish durable goodshousehold appliances producer Arcelik AS (ARCLK.IS) posted a consolidated net profit of TRY485.4 million Turkish lira ($320.4 million) in 2009, the Web site of the Istanbul Stock Exchange showed late Wednesday.

Arcelik's net profit was TRY39.794 million in 2008.

According to the Web site, the increase in the company's net profit stemmed from lower sales costslower financial costs.

The company's sales costs fell to TRY4.4 billion in 2009 from TRY4.9 billion a year earlier, wihile its financial costs decreased to TRY580.094 million from TRY1.163 billion.

Arcelik's operating profit rose to TRY748.8 million in 2009 from TRY439.5 million a year earlier.

Arcelik is controlled by Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding (KCHOL.IS).
