Turkısh Mınıster Expects 2010 Growth To Exceed 3.5%
Turkish Economy Minister Ali Babacan said Wednesday that economic growth should exceed the government's 3.5% target this year.
The Turkish government targets growth of 3.5% for 2010 under the country's latest medium-term economic program.
In a written statement following the release of gross domestic product figures, Babacan said he expects the economic recovery that started at the end of 2009 to get stronger this year.
Figures earlier Wednesday showed Turkey's gross domestic product rose by 6% on the year in the fourth quarter, after a 2.9% contraction in the third quarter, bringing the contraction for 2009 as a whole to 4.7%.
