Tourısts Vısıtıng Turkey Up 6.11% On Year In February
The number of tourists visiting Turkey rose 6.11% in February to 953,848, from 898,927 the comparable month a year earlier, the culturetourism ministry said Tuesday.
In the first two months of the year, tourist numbers rose 6.85% to 1.76 million from 1.65 million in the same period of 2009.
February's tourist visitors came mainly from Germany, followed by IranBulgaria.
In 2009 as a whole some 27.1 million tourists visited Turkey, up 2.8% from a year earlier.
Revenue from tourism fell to $21.2 billion in 2009 from $22 billion in 2008.
